Screen Format & Surface

The ReTract Plus is available in three popular formats: Square (1:1), Video (4:3) and HD (16:9). All of our ReTract screens feature our advanced Ultra3™ Matte White surface that offers up to 1.1 gain and a 160 degree viewing angle. The ReTract offers beautiful color rendition, soft light and virtually no visual fatigue even after hours of use. It is also fire retardant, mildew resistant, and easy to clean with mild soap and water. The matte white surface is perfectly framed on all four sides by our light-absorbing black border.

 

Construction

The ReTract is built to withstand the rigors of classroom and boardroom use. From the housing to the bearings, from the pull bail to the screen surface itself, it’s well constructed for years of trouble free use.

ReTract screens with a screen width up to 96" are constructed with our MagTuf hexagonal screen housing, made of 21 gauge steel and finished with our commercial grade matte white finish.

ReTract screens with a screen width exceeding 96" are built using our MagTuf square screen housing, made of 20 gauge steel and finished with our commercial grade matte white finish.

Both housings allow for direct to wall mounting using the endcap mounting slots or ‘away from wall’ adjustable mounting using our optional mounting hardware.

>Packaging is very simple and malleable. The screen is packaged in plastic, and placed in a cardboard box with four small Styrofoam pieces to hold it in place.
>The sides of the screen had a few frays, but were easily trimmed off.
>It can be difficult to retract the screen. More specifically, finding the retract release when pulling down.
Other Thoughts:
This is my first projector screen, so please take this review with a grain of salt. As far as the screen itself, it seems to me to be of pretty good quality. I would however like to point out that I am upgrading from a bed sheet, so any screen would probably look amazing to me.

I think the only "problems" with this screen are mainly the retract release and the packaging. If you read other reviews, you’ll find that people get frustrated taking time to retract the screen. It does often take time, but is not impossible.

Also, a good amount of people have issues with shipping damage. I was lucky enough to only have a slight scratch on the screen housing. I believe these problems are because of the cheap packaging. But, for a low budget, you can’t really complain. Especially when the store is more than willing to replace a broken screen.

Overall, I think this is a good screen for the low price. The customer service I received while ordering and tracking was awesome. The screen was at my door in less than a week. I don’t think I could have asked for better service from ProjectorScreenStore.com.

Pros:
The screen has a nice finish to it that really helps my presentations "pop." The mounting brackets already assembled made it very simple to hang.
Cons:
One of my end-caps was damaged. My screen would not retract.
Other Thoughts:
I contacted customer service as soon as I was aware of this issue and they were happy to send me a replacement the next day. The service I received was very prompt and much appreciated.

 After conducting much research on projector screens we decided to go with this screen because of the diagonal and the price. We definitely made the right decision. The matte on the screen makes it look super nice and the hi def picture is sharp and colorful.

 I received the screen in less than a week, no damage, and it was easy to install. The screen pulled down with little effort and after a couple of tries and experience, went up smooth. The screen images are very good. Overall I am well satisfied with the quality, company, and price.

 The projector arrived and looked good except the little metal handle to pull down the screen was off and very loose when put back on. The bracket it mounts to was bent down as if it got caught on something when packaging or on assembly. I had to use a pliers to bend it back after putting the handle back on. When I did this it creased the bottom rod that holds the screen at the bottom. The screen does not go up well. It is an act of God to find the right point to roll it up. When I do get it to go up it never goes all the way...I’ve pulled it most of the way back down to roll it back up. It seems to take anywhere from 1 min to 4 to roll it up. Eventually it may never work. Other than that annoyance...it is a great screen for the price. I expect to have to make my own system someday soon to roll it up. I am using it outside and simply unhook it and move it to a mounting place in the game room for storage so weather will not matter. It beats the hassle of building your own screen..the pic looked good. I may be an idiot at rolling these up. I have never handled one that worked well. If you do well with them, you may not have the same problem. I wish the handle hadn’t been so lousy...hate to have creased the new screen holder...

 I’ve never bought a projector screen before and did as much research as possible before purchasing this one for our Senior Center. Then, I held my breath in the hopes that I made a good choice. It was. The company confirmed the sale, shipped it within the week, and kept me informed during it all. The screen arrive and is a VERY good buy for the money! It looks GREAT, very professional, clean, strong, and a wonderful size. It also works very easily ... rolling up and down without any problems. I would definitely recommend this company and this screen to others. We’re using it to begin teaching computer skills to our senior citizens.

 This screen is very sharp looking. It pulls back upward smoothly and doesn’t get stuck, as long as you don’t slow it down on the way back up. I love that it is rectangular and not square shaped.
